My name is Beverly
Howard. Most remember me as either Beverly Lewis or Smokey. If you are
laughing, that's ok. When I graduated from HS I moved to San Antonio,
TX. In 1985 I joined the U.S. Army and retired in 2005. I earned my
undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and graduate degree
from Dallas Baptist University. After retiring from the military, I
worked for the Department of Education as a Civil Rights Investigator
for about 6 months. I had a strong desire to make more money;
therefore, I accepted a position with City of Dallas. I worked as a
Human Resources Generalist for the City of Dallas for 1 year. Although
I loved my job and the people I worked with, I still had a desire to
advance and put that Masters degree to work. I accepted a position with
the Federal government as an Employee and Labor Relations Specialist for
the General Services Administration. I moved from Dallas, TX to
Washington, DC. My boss offered me a deal that I could not refuse. I
accepted the challenge of being a "Virtual Employee." I then returned
to Dallas, TX where I work home about 90% of the time and the other 10%
is spent at the Federal building in Fort Worth. I have been engaged to
Arthur Hicks since 2002 and will one day close my eyes and take that
leap again. He works for American Airlines and we spend about one
weekend a month in the air. We love to travel and visit different
cities. We are hoping to settle down in Denver, CO after visiting every
state. Other than that, I miss coming home. Hopefully someone with
start a class reunion and I look forward to seeing all of you. My
